A Taste of Tuscan Arts offers a holiday with a difference. Set in the charming Tuscan spa village of Bagni-di-Lucca, which lies in the Lima valley at the foot of the Apennines, our course is designed to meet the needs of those who have an interest in the arts and want to learn and explore more, whilst enjoying the stunning cultural landscape of Tuscany.
Accommodation for A Taste of Tuscan Arts will be arranged in one of the spacious villas overlooking the village, providing a quiet and relaxing haven for guests. From here we will run our music workshops where we will give an insight into Italian song and opera, culminating in a visit to the Puccini Festival to see a production of Puccini’s TOSCA.

various role-play activities and of course the opportunity to speak Italian on the various trips, during meal times etc.

A Taste of Tuscan Arts tutors are experienced and enthusiastic practising artists and aim to provide a friendly and relaxed atmosphere for guests of all ages, interests and skills.
Bagni di Lucca is within easy reach of Pisa airport, and there will be visits to the nearby medieval walled city of Lucca, and to Florence.

The festival is an annual event which takes place in the recently built outdoor theatre at Torre del Lago. This romantic lake - side setting is the perfect venue for performances of some of the most romantic operas ever written. We will also have the opportunity to visit the villa opposite Lake Massaciuccoli, which was the home of Lucca’s most famous son, Puccini, for many years.
The art workshops for A Taste of Tuscan Arts explore the use of colour as well as providing instruction on drawing techniques, and will be related to the underlying theme of the course.
Classes will be conducted in the open air and will look at drawing skills and working with colour.

There will also of course be time to relax round the pool or visit the local spa, and we will spend some time in Montecarlo where we will visit one of the many fattorias for wine and olive-oil tasting.

The cost for A Taste of Tuscan Arts is £490 per person based on sharing a room, and includes tuition and materials, accommodation including most meals and transport within Italy.
